Crisis teams in Metro Manila to be activated by end of May

CRISIS teams of local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila are expected to be activated by the end of May, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chief Don Artes said on Friday.

Artes said that the task force of each LGU should submit reports on their initial findings and recommendations to address the possible effects of the El Niño phenomenon.

'Within this month, crisis teams of each LGUs should be activated and they are expected to submit reports that will be used as a basis,' Artes said in a press conference on Friday.Artes said the LGU task force, as mandated by the national government, will submit the reports to the Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council .
