The charges were laid weeks after Nassr, the creator of Creeper Hunter TV, an online project that sets out to identify potential child predators, posted an episode to the website in April 2020 featuring his communications with a 39-year-old London-area man.Article content That led to a bizarre 56-minute phone call to the man that Nassr taped as an episode for the website. It included the overtly sexual text messages scrolling across the screen along with the man’s phone number and photos from his social media account.

It’s the text chat with the man, similar to communications with other Creeper Hunter TV targets, that the Crown says meet the definition of child pornography. Wright agreed Nassr’s project helped lay the groundwork for charges, although, in cross-examination by assistant Crown attorney James Spangenberg, Nassr’s strategy for tracking down potential child predators didn’t meet the legal standards necessary for police investigations.
