Inspiration sometimes can come while in the most unexpected places. This is the case of Filipino artist Zild Benitez, who got the idea of his newest release “Duwag” while waiting for his order of sour cream and cheese-flavored french fries. Know more:

“Bumibili ako ng fries, naghihintay lang ako sa pila, tapos pumasok sa akin ‘yung melody bigla,” he recounts.

The 25-year-old artist said that the melody of “Duwag” first came to his mind, following the lyrics months after the idea sparked. But for “Duwag,” it was different considering that most of his songs’ inspiration starts while brainstorming in his room. Nonetheless, Zild is open to all as long as the music continues to play, saying “I keep my mind open.”

“‘Yung ‘Duwag,’ pwede siya maging tungkol sa pagiging torpe or reflection of life kung paano—ano kaya ang mangyayari kung hindi ako nagpaka duwag before,” he said. But when the creative juices are sometimes not helping, Zild shares that he forces himself to brainstorm new ideas.
