Metro Manila continues to see a “low” Covid-19 positivity rate, while no province in Luzon has seen an increase in positivity rates over the past week, said a fellow of the OCTA Research on Monday, Jan. 23.

In an update posted on social media, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said the positivity rate in Metro Manila dropped from 3.7 percent to 2.4 percent as of Jan. 21.Metro Manila began to see an improvement in the Covid-19 positivity rate in the second half of December 2022. The positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from those who were tested for Covid-19.
The World Health Organization recommended that the positivity rate should remain at 5 percent or less to show that the spread of the virus is under control. David also noted that several provinces in Luzon have registered low positivity rates over the past week.
