BREAKING NEWS. The Department of Health records 2,646 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Total cases now at 2,809,311. Total deaths at 44,665; total recoveries at 2,735,508.
The Department of Health on Monday, November 8, reported that 87.03% or 651 of the 748 positive samples recently sequenced were found to have the highly transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19.
The DOH also reported that the Philippines recorded its first case of B.1.617.1 variant, which has been classified by the World Health Organization as “variant under monitoring.”3 days agoThe Department of Health expressed openness to requiring COVID-19 vaccination for specific high-risk sectors as the government seeks to cover at least 90% of the country's population, but said it would be treated as a"last resort.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire told reporters on Friday, November 5, that the proposal is being discussed by the government's coronavirus task force and that a law would first need to be passed to implement it.
