TACLOBAN City - The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Eastern Visayas has tripled since the national government allowed returning residents to travel back to the area last month.

TACLOBAN City – The number of coronavirus disease cases in Eastern Visayas has tripled since the national government allowed returning residents to travel back to the area last month.

This is the highest number of cases recorded in one day since March 23. They will be tagged as Patients EV91 to EV132. From the 44 positive results, 17 are from Alang-alang town, 11 from Dagami, 1 from Tacloban City, 5 from Bato, 1 each from Hilongos and La Paz towns in Leyte, 2 from Padre Burgos, 1 from Macrohon in Southern Leyte province, 2 from Gandara, Samar; and 1 from Almeria, Biliran.
