TRIAL courts in Pasig City and Quezon City have granted the request of Sen. Risa Hontiveros to allow televangelist Apollo Quiboloy to attend on October 23 the Senate inquiry on his alleged abuse of some Kingdom of Jesus Christ members.
Hontiveros on October 14 wrote separate letters to Judge Elma Rafallo-Lingan of the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 159 and Judge Noel Parel of the Quezon City RTC Branch 106 to convey her request.In her order dated October 21, Pasig RTC Branch 159 acting presiding judge Rainelda Estacio-Montesa granted Hontiveros' request.
Estacio-Montesa also directed the Pasig City jail warden and the chief of the Philippine National Police custodial center to escort Quiboloy, Jackielyn Wong Roy, Cresente Canada alias Enteng, Ingrid Canada, Pauline Canada and Sylvia Cemanes to the Senate 'and observe maximum security measures to ensure the safety and security of all the accused.'Quiboloy filed with the Pasig RTC a motion opposing Hontiveros' request.
