SC stops No Contact Apprehension Policy

THE Supreme Court has temporarily stopped the implementation of the no contact apprehension policy being implemented in five Metro Manila cities.In a resolution, the Supreme Court en banc acted on the petition filed by Pasang Masda, Kilusan sa Pagbabago ng Industriya ng Transportasyon Inc. , Alliance of Transport Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines , and Alliance of Concerted Transport Organizations as it issued a temporary restraining order against the policy.

The groups, in their petition, asked the high tribunal to declare NCAP unconstitutional, saying that motorists are 'under constant threat of being arbitrarily apprehended remotely and issued notices of violation for alleged traffic offenses committed without any contact whatsoever.
