The gunman arrives with a driver, gets out of a car, approaches the victim, and opens fire with an M16 rifle
DAVAO, Philippines – A lone gunman shot and killed a town councilor in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, while the victim was tending his small restaurant in front of a government district hospital on Tuesday afternoon, September 17.
The incident occurred around 3 pm on Tuesday, according to Major Cemafranco Cemacio, the town police chief. Police are investigating whether the crime was politically motivated, related to a clan feud, or linked to a land dispute.
