SUBANG JAYA: Investigations into the theft of nearly RM15,000 in communication cables led to the arrest of four suspects.
In a statement on Friday , Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said that a report was lodged on behalf of Telekom Malaysia on April 13.
"The report stated that on April 12 the complainant, an assistant technical officer for TM, said that during an inspection at Jalan SS15/5G, several cables were cut and believed to be stolen. "The 0.4mm and 0.5mm cables were cut around 250m in length and losses have been estimated to be around RM15,000," he said.
Based on information gathered, four suspects, including an Indian national, were arrested on April 13 at a shop that sold scrap parts in Subang Jaya. The suspects, aged 20 to 35, were also found with around RM11,000 in copper and tools that were believed to have been used to steal the cables."With their arrest, as many as eight cases with the same modus operandi, have been solved," he said.
