KOTA KINABALU: Police in Sabah's east coast Tawau have uncovered a theft gang specialised in stealing motorcycles that would be stripped for parts to be sold following the arrests of five suspects.
The suspects, aged between 18 and 25 years old, were arrested at Mile 32, Jalan Tawau-Kunak at about 6am on Saturday after a police team on crime prevention patrol came across the group.
"Further investigation found that those arrested were also involved in stealing and disassembling motorcycle components. Jasmin said police investigations found that the motorcycle and other components recovered were reported missing in Kampung Ranggu on March 19.
