Three semi-permanent houses were destroyed in a fire in Kg Tawau Lama, Batu 2 Jalan Apas around 8.20 pm on Thursday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Jemishin Ujin, said a team of 18 officers and members along with two machines and two utilities were deployed to the location after receiving an emergency call at 8.26 pm through MERS99. He said his team put out the fire using water from the fire hydrant and also from machinery with the help of the Community Fire Department .“We managed to control the fire from spreading at 9.16 pm and ended the operation at 11.
10 pm after making sure there was no danger at the location,” he said.
