ICYMI: The policeman who was arrested last week in an operation that led to the confiscation of almost a ton of suspected “shabu” worth P6.7 billion had been cited by the PNP as best antidrug police officer.
Later in June, Mayo was named “best senior police noncommissioned officer” of the PNP-DEG.
“I would believe this is not just up to [his] level…. We really have to have an intensive investigation,” he said at a press briefing on Monday at Camp Crame. As an intelligence officer, Mayo was privy to important information about the illegal drug trade. He also had the power to feed wrong information to the PNP-DEG that could compromise its operations.
