The experts’ decision to let Jess and Dan stay has infuriated viewers — but what really happened was probably quite different.
But according to one ex-contestant, the idea that experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Trisha Stratford are responsible for letting Dan and Jess stay is “fake news”.
However, unlike Dan and Jess, Dean backed out of his pact with Davina at the commitment ceremony and opted instead to stay with “wife” Tracey Jewel — only for her to dump him at the end of the season.Jess and Dan's affair was finally exposed in Sunday night's episode.Despite last night’s commitment ceremony showing the experts debating the pros and cons of letting Dan and Jess stay on the show before sharing their decision, Dean claims the reality would have been much different.
“This could not be more fake. The experts have literally zero say in this,” Dean shared on his Instagram story. “The producers tried to make me and Davina do the same thing last year. #fakenews.” It’s not the first time Dean or Davina have spoken about their affair, with both slamming MAFS producers for manipulating what they said was never a full-blown relationship.Speaking to the Kyle and Jackie O Show in February Davina alleged she had wanted to leave the show but was instead offered a deal to re-enter the show with Dean and“They said, ‘You guys are too good for the show’,” she explained.
“They said Dean and I could come back as a couple because they didn’t want to lose us. We were like, ‘We don’t want to be here’ — very open and honestly — but then they were like, ‘You guys are really good on TV, we can do this, we can bring you back on the show and have it this way’.”
