No wonder, Cone was thrilled to have Thompson back for the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers on Thursday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.The PBA Season 46 Most Valuable Player delivered an all-around game of 12 points, four rebounds and six assists to help Gilas Pilipinas pull off a king-sized 93-89 win against world No. 22 ranked New Zealand .
'The thing with Scottie is you can look at videos all you want, but until you actually get on the floor and play against him, you can't realize what he's doing out there for you, in terms of rebound, I mean in terms of tremendous rebounding, I think that's what gets the most attention,' said Cone.The national coach also said Thompson has always been a known solid defender, while making sure he takes extra work on his perimeter shooting.
