MANILA, Philippines — As Barangay Ginebra gears towards its much-awaited Finals rematch versus TNT, coach Tim Cone said they are expecting veteran forward Joe Devance to return to action some time in the best-of-seven Governors' Cup title series.The 42-year-old Ginebra forward sustained a knee injury after an accidental hit by San Miguel Beer import EJ Anosike during the fourth quarter of their Game 5 semifinal series.
' hanging out around here, and suddenly, he has to play a high level basketball without being able to prepare his body and be in shape, it was amazing that he was able to do what he was able to do,' Cone said of the 12-time PBA champion forward.Devance averaged 2.25 points and just 12.25 rebounds in over 10 minutes of play, but the Ginebra mentor said the left-handed Filipino-American's contributions go beyond the stats sheet.
