Some lanes of Commonwealth Avenue eastbound in Quezon City were closed temporarily on Sunday morning to give way to work on the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 project.The affected lanes are those from near University Avenue to before Tandang Sora Avenue, going toward Fairview, according to a report by Carlo Mateo on Super Radyo dzBB.This is due to the rafters or beams that are being installed using cranes for the footbridge that will connect to the MRT7 Tandang Sora Station.

The safety manager of the MRT7 project asked motorists for understanding due to the inconvenience this may cause.The Department of Transportation earlier said the road closure will only be until 4 a.m. Sunday.However, the activity could not be finished in time, the safety manager said. The closed lanes are expected to be opened by 10 a.m. Sunday.Meanwhile, a zipper lane for motorists heading toward Fairview was opened using a portion of Commonwealth Avenue going toward Quezon Memorial Circle.
