– The resumption of commercial flights for non-essential travel is not a priority in Iloilo and Capiz provinces as the threat of the coronavirus disease continues.

Governors Arthur Defensor Jr. of Iloilo and Esteban Evan Contreras II of Capiz both emphasized that flights that would be allowed into their provinces will be those that will cater to repatriated overseas Filipino workers and locally stranded individuals . “We want to make sure that it should only still only for our residents so we can protect Capiz and Panay Island,” Contreras added.

Both governors, who were attending a region-wide meeting in Iloilo City Wednesday, could not ascertain if there will be any changes after June 15, which marks the day the modified general community quarantine is supposed to end.
