TWO lawmakers from the Makabayan bloc on Saturday voiced their frustration with the current party-list system at the House of Representatives which, they claimed, was now dominated by political families, businesses, the military, and the current administration.Speaking at the Annabel's Media Forum organized by Infrawatch PH, a policy think tank focusing on major public infrastructure and development projects in the country, Gabriela Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas and ACT Teachers Rep.
'If we look at the top 10 in the ranks of the party-list in the 2022 elections, they are mostly controlled or represented by political dynasties and businesses who exploited the system [so much so] that the essence of representation has already been lost,' Brosas said in a statement in Filipino.'Other nominees have unresolved charges of graft that have not been called out by the proper channels,' Castro said.
