THE Commission on Elections is now 95 percent prepared for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on October 30, 2023.This was announced by acting Comelec Regional Director Lionel Marco Castillano on Tuesday, October 24.'I would say we are at 95 percent because the only thing we lack is the deployment of our teachers on election day and their security component,' said Castillano.
Castillano is scheduled to visit Negros Oriental on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, to observe firsthand the election and security preparations taking place in the area, which is under Comelec control.'Except for Negros Oriental where we still implement the Comelec control because the operational guidelines were only approved last Friday. Let's go there so we can explain the guidelines to the election officers, the police and AFP as well as the Coastguard,' said Castillano.
