The filing of certificates of candidacy for Eleksyon 2025 , which started on Tuesday, has been “relatively peaceful” so far, according to the Philippine National Police on Friday.“So far relatively peaceful po dahil wala naman po tayong natatanggap na any report na anumang kaguluhan or tension with respect po sa pagpa-file ng candidacy,” PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said in a press briefing.
Police personnel are instructed to maintain vigilance and maximum police presence especially in areas where supporters gather, according to Fajardo.A total of 18,280 elective posts will be up for grabs for Eleksyon 2025.Commission on Elections Chairperson George Garcia on Thursday said the filing of COCs and certificates of nominations of acceptance remained peaceful.
