THE state-run weather agency on Tuesday advised the public to bring umbrellas as overcast skies and heavy rains are likely on Wednesday, All Saints' Day, or 'Undas.
' Weather specialist Patrick del Mundo of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the northeast monsoon and shear line are affecting most parts of the country over the next few days. In particular, amihan will bring isolated light rains over Central and Northern Luzon that include Batanes, Cagayan and Isabela. The shear line - where the hot and cold air converge - is affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
'These two weather systems, along with the localized thunderstorms, will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in most parts of the country, including Metro Manila, until Wednesday, All Saints' Day,' according to the Pagasa forecaster. 'That is why, we are reminding those who will visit their departed ones at the cemeteries to bring umbrellas or anything to shield themselves from possible rains,' he added.
