He'll make a stop at the Sault on Oct. 5
David Ligouy, a French activist who is concerned about climate change and biodiversity loss, is riding from the west coast to Montreal, where he'll attend December 2022 the UN Conference on Biodiversity COP 15.
Ligouy, 52, has a master of science degree specializing in renewable energy and appropriate technology for developing countries. He is also with an NGO, Le Mouvement de la Paix , which has been successful in a national legal battle against the French government for failing to take action on climate change and was also part of the momentum behind the Treaty of Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons ICAN.
Ligouy is in his fourth year of riding around the world on a solar-powered electric assist trike. His goal is to raise public awareness of climate change and to connect with youth who will face more serious consequences of climate change if we all don’t address this global crisis.
