Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has taken aim at the NRL’s officiating after 20 penalties were awarded during Friday evening’s victory over the Rabbitohs at BlueBet Stadium.However, the second half of the Round 26 contest was marred by stoppages in play, including lengthy Bunker decisions and and penalties from referee Peter Gough.
Panthers captain Isaah Yeo confessed there was “certainly frustration” about the NRL’s officiating, but accepted the players were partly to blame.“It just felt like there were a lot of penalties. Obviously discipline needs to be better, but it just felt like there were a lot.
