Classes and work in Camarines Sur, Philippines have been suspended on January 8, 2025, due to a yellow rainfall warning issued by PAGASA because of a shear line. Governor Luigi Villafuerte ordered the suspension to ensure the safety of students and school personnel from potential flooding. Modular distance learning, performance tasks, and make-up classes will be implemented.

Work and classes have been suspended in Camarines Sur in light of the yellow rainfall warning raised over the province on Wednesday due to the shear line.“To ensure the safety of learners/students and school personnel from the risks posed by this weather disturbance, face-to-face classes and work in schools at all levels are suspended today, January 8, 2025, until lifted,” Governor Luigi Villafuerte said in a memorandum.

“Further, parents and guardians are strongly advised to promptly pick up their children from school. In the event that travel is deemed unsafe, schools shall ensure that learners remain safely inside classrooms until conditions improve,” he added.Villafuerte cited the state weather bureau PAGASA's Heavy Rainfall Advisory No. 2 at 8 a.m., which raised a yellow rainfall warning over Camarines Sur due to the shear line.
