Classes suspended in Rizal except Antipolo City due to TD Amang

The DepEd in Rizal suspended classes in public and private schools on Wednesday, April 12, in the entire province, except in Antipolo City, due to Tropical Depression AmangPH. | dtmallarijrINQ /PDI

However, the school authorities in Antipolo City, which has its own DepEd office, clarified that they are not covered by the DepEd-Rizal order.

The authorities in Antipolo City explained that since there is no storm signal in the locality, all classes will continue except if the city government issues a suspension order. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration , in its Wednesday 8 a.m. bulletin, said Amang was last located over the coastal waters of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

Tropical Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted in Catanduanes, Sorsogon , Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Masbate , Aurora, Quezon including Pollilo Islands and Rizal .
