The award, decided by the editors of the magazine, recognizes the bank that has made the most progress in the region over the last 12 months. Regionally, Citi also picked up Best Bank for Financing and Best Bank for Transaction Services in Asia.
In the last year, Citi has raised over US$200bn from global capital markets for Asia Pacific clients, including around US$30bn via ESG financings, both a record for the bank over a year. Added close to US$15bn in new client assets across Citi Global Wealth in the region and added over 14,000 new wealth clients.year in the Philippines, Citi remains the largest foreign bank in the country in terms of asset base, and through its institutional businesses continues to guide clients to successful transactions in banking, markets and services.
Citi Philippines, through its investment house Citicorp Capital Philippines Inc. , was key in executing a total of eight capital market debt deals over the last 12 months amounting to more than $13B. Citi has also raised over $4B for corporate clients in the country in support of their environment, social and governance initiatives and has advised clients on the creation of their Sustainability Framework.
