AT least 97 fugitives were arrested by police trackers in an intensified 'Oplan Pagtugis' manhunt operation across the country, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director MGen. Nicolas Torre III said Friday. In a statement, Torre said the arrest of the 97 criminals corresponded to 97 manhunt operations in various parts of the country conducted from March 18 to 20, 2025 by virtue of arrest warrants.
The CIDG Luzon and NCR field units captured 46 most wanted persons, including two for the crime of rape. Operatives from the CIDG Tarlac apprehended a suspect in the killing of a Pampanga beauty queen and her Israeli fiance. The CIDG Visayas Field Units collared 21 most wanted fugitives, while the CIDG Mindanao field units captured 30 fugitives, including Abo Kaunotan, who has been in hiding for 13 years for murder.
