The Oscar-winning couple behind 'Oppenheimer,' Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas, are to receive knighthood and damehood, respectively, for their services to film.

The two filmmakers received the trophy for Best Picture as producers with Charles Roven, while Nolan also won Best Director for the three-hour biopic "Oppenheimer" earlier this month. Sarandos' title is honorary as he is American, though non-British individuals have been named CBEs before, like Steven Spielberg, Angelina Jolie, John Williams and Pele.
The couple met in college and went on to run the production company Syncopy, which has overseen all but Nolan's first three films.
