Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero has taken over the post as the country's new Senate President just moments after Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri resigned from the position.Escudero was nominated by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano. With no objection, Escudero was officially elected by the 24-man body as their new chief.He took the oath minutes after his election. It was administered by Senator Mark Villar, the youngest member of the chamber.
