Chinese ship Qi Jiguang will arrive in the Philippines on June 14 and will be welcomed at the Manila South Harbor with a ceremony.

Before the Philippines, the China-built large naval training ship already paid the same visits to Vietnam, Thailand and Brunei.Spanning 163 meters long and 22 meters wide, the ship has a full load displacement of more than 9,000 tons. It also has a maximum speed of 22 knots, which can meet the requirements for wind resistance of grade 12, according to the Chinese Embassy in Manila. The Chinese ship's visit in Manila follows similar visits recently mde by the US and Japan as the Philippines works closely with its neighbors and allies for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

In March, the United States flexed its muscle in the Indo-Pacific by sending its warship—the USS America —to Manila for a five-day port visit. Japan, meanwhile, deployed its coast guard's Akitsushima to join in the naval drills off Bataan with the Philippines' and US' fleets.
