Chinese Embassy in Manila donates P1 M cash, PPEs to PH frontliners
The Chinese Embassy in Manila on Friday donated P1 million cash and some personal protective equipment to medical frontliners in the Philippines as a token of appreciation and support for their hard work in battling the COVID-19 pandemic.In a simple ceremony at the Chinese Embassy, Ambassador Huang Xilian met with the representatives of Filipino medical frontliners and turned over the cash and PPEs.
Huang expressed hope that the medical frontliners would stay safe and healthy being the country’s last line of defense against the pandemic, even as he assured that China will continue to provide support and assistance to the best of its ability to the Philippines. On Thursday, the Chinese Embassy also donated some 50 ventilators to the Philippine government to strengthen the country’s capability to provide medical services to the public amid the pandemic.
The latest donation of ventilators is the last batch of the 130 units of ventilator machines provided by the Chinese government. Early this month, Beijing assured that it will prioritize the Philippines in the supply of COVID-19 vaccines once it is made ready for commercial use and distribution.
