A CHINESE businessman denied on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, operating the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators hub that was raided in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu in August this year.During the resumption of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality inquiry into the raided illegal Pogo hub in Bamban, Zhao Shao Qi , who was aided by a Chinese interpreter during his appearance at the probe, said that on July 20, he rented out three of his rooms for P1.
“This sum of money is actually not a bribe because what I wanted is, remember, I came there after they were caught. When I came there, my 70-year-old wife is there and her body was weak and my granddaughter was also there but what I wanted to do because her body is weak, I wanted to have a separate arrangement for my wife and my granddaughter,” he said in Chinese.
