KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 — The broadcaster of talent search show, Zhejiang Media Group, has launched an investigation into the show following a viral audio clip believed to be of late American-Hong-Kong singer Coco Lee claiming she was bullied on the show.

In a statement posted on its website, it said it took note of complaints and opinions from viewers and social media users about the show, which is aired on Zhejiang Satellite TV. Pledging to strengthen supervision of the show, the media group added it would urge the programme producer — a Shanghai-based company — to maintain fairness and justice so that every participant is respected,The announcement came following a viral nine-minute audio clip in which the voice, said to be Lee which also expressed her anger why a contestant with higher points faced elimination, while another contestant with lower marks was given a second chance to appear in the next round.

Lee, who had struggled with depression for several years, died in Queen Mary Hospital on July 5 in Hong Kong, after a suicide attempt three days earlier left her in a coma. * If you are lonely, distressed, or having negative thoughts, Befrienders offers free and confidential support 24 hours a day.
