China vented its ire for not making the finals on a hapless Chinese Taipei quintet as the host country scored a runaway 101-73 victory behind its torrid second half shooting to capture the bronze medal in the 19th Asian Games men's basketball tournament on Friday, October 6, at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.

The Chinese got off to a slow first half after trailing by eight points at the close of the opening period but closed in at 46-49 at the halftime break.China then had its guns blazing from there, outscoring Taiwan, 34-10, in the third quarter to turn a tight contest into an eventual ghastly rout.

The Chinese settled for the bronze after their infamous meltdown against Gilas Pilipinas, which saw the host country blow a 20-point lead en route to a heart-breaking 77-76 defeat last Wednesday.Justin Brownlee scored 27 of his 33 points in the second half, leading the Philippines' massive comeback that stunned the Chinese fans.
