The Chinese got off to a slow first half after trailing by eight points at the close of the opening period but closed in at 46-49 at the halftime break.China then had its guns blazing from there, outscoring Taiwan, 34-10, in the third quarter to turn a tight contest into an eventual ghastly rout.
The Chinese settled for the bronze after their infamous meltdown against Gilas Pilipinas, which saw the host country blow a 20-point lead en route to a heart-breaking 77-76 defeat last Wednesday.Justin Brownlee scored 27 of his 33 points in the second half, leading the Philippines' massive comeback that stunned the Chinese fans.
