A Queensland Police vehicle recovered from the remote property where three innocent lives were taken has shown the heavy gunfire the four rookie constables were met with when they arrived to the rigged home.
Matthew Arnold, 26, Rachel McCrow, 29, Keely Brough, 28, and Randall Kirk, 28, were on Monday afternoon sent to an address in Wieambilla, about 300 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, for a welfare check on a missing New South Wales man who was later identified as Nathaniel Train.situated on the 45-hectare property when they were met with a hail of bullets.
Sky News Australia cameras were there when a Queensland Police vehicle was recovered from the crime scene on Thursday and taken to Chinchilla Police Station. Sky News Australia Brisbane reporter Clare Todhunter is in the town and described the damage to the police car as"confronting" and"chilling". After the murders of Matthew and Rachel, the killers tried to hunt down Randall and chased him back to his police car whileDespite suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, he managed to speed off to safety while his vehicle was hit by several bullets.
