The economy rebounded in 2021, 2022, and 2023, reaching a GDP of P1.01 trillion in 2023, representing 73% of Central Visayas' GDP. Tourism and IT-BPM remain key drivers of growth, with the province attracting 5.94 million tourists in 2024, generating P38 billion. The IT-BPM sector, employing over 121,000 professionals, generated $32.5 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach $38 billion in 2024. Manufacturing is another important sector, contributing to electronics, furniture, food, and shipbuilding. Cebu's economic success relies on stable and affordable energy sources, leading to investments in solar farms and plans for expanded power capacity.
