Cebu Pacific starts transferring its turboprop flights from Manila's Naia to Clark International Airport, enhancing airport capacity and passenger convenience.
Cebu Pacific, a leading budget carrier in the Philippines, has initiated the gradual relocation of its turboprop operations from Manila's congested Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 2 to Clark International Airport (CRK). Starting March 30, Cebgo, Cebu Pacific's subsidiary focused on regional flights, will begin operating flights to Masbate and Siargao from Clark.
This move signifies Cebu Pacific's commitment to optimizing airport capacity and enhancing the overall passenger experience. As part of this strategic shift, Cebu Pacific will discontinue its direct flights between Manila and Surigao. Passengers affected by this change will be provided with alternative travel options, including connecting flights through Cebu. The airline assures affected customers that they will be notified in advance and offered suitable alternatives such as free rebooking, travel fund storage for future use, or full refunds. Support channels will be readily available through Cebu Pacific's website, mobile application, and social media platforms to assist passengers with any inquiries or concerns. This transition aligns with the Philippine government's initiative to alleviate congestion at Naia by encouraging airlines to transfer their turboprop operations to secondary airports. Clark International Airport, strategically located north of Manila, is poised to become a key hub for regional connectivity. Cebu Pacific, along with other Philippine carriers, is mandated to transfer 30 percent of its turboprop operations out of Naia by March 30, 2023, coinciding with the peak summer travel season. AirSwift, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Cebu Pacific, will continue operating from Naia Terminal 2 until March 2026. This phased approach ensures a smooth transition and minimizes disruption to passenger travel
