Sinuspinde ng Office of the Ombudsman ng anim na buwan si Cebu City mayor Michael Rama, at pito pang opisyal ng lungsod kaugnay sa paglilipat sa apat na kawani sa ibang ahensiya at hindi rin nakasahod.
Sa inilabas na resolusyon ng Ombudsman , nakitain umano ng basehan para suspendihin sina Rama dahil sa grave misconduct, conduct unbecoming of public officer, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, grave abuse of authority, at paglabag sa Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for public officials and employees.
Ang suspensyon ay mula sa reklamo ng apat na empleyado ng City Assessor's Office na inilipat sa ibang tanggapan at hindi nakatanggap ng sahod mula noong July 2023. Batay sa naunang desisyon ng Civil Service Commission Regional Office 7, idineklara nito na dapat ibalik sa dati nilang puwesto ang apat, pati na ang sahod.
Sa panayam sa telepono ng GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, sinabi ni Rama na hindi pa niya natatanggap ang kopya ang resolusyon mula sa Ombudsman. "Wala pa ko kadawat sa kopya. My lawyers will take care of it," saad ng alkalde. — FRJ, GMA Integrated News
