Casiey Dongallo, Kizzie Madriaga, and Jelai Gajero are leaving University of the East for University of the Philippines. The move is supported by Strong Group Athletics, and former UE coach Obet Vital has also joined the UP camp.

Casiey Dongallo has left University of the East and is set to join University of the Philippines, according to multiple reports. The Manila Times has reached out to Dongallo for confirmation but has yet to receive a response. Dongallo isn't the only one making the move from UE to UP, as setter Kizzie Madriaga and Jelai Gajero, who was expected to debut for the Lady Warriors in the upcoming UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament, are also reportedly heading to Diliman.

Dongallo, a 5-foot-7 spiker, led all rookies last season with 291 points scored as UE finished sixth with a 3-11 record in Season 86. The hope was that she would guide the Lady Warriors for years to come, but that won't be the case. Dongallo, Madriaga, and Gajero's transfer to UP is unsurprising as Strong Group Athletics, which also supports UE, backs the Fighting Maroons. Additionally, UE coach Obet Vital, who previously coached Dongallo, Madriaga, and Gajero at California Academy in Antipolo, is also reported to have joined the UP camp. Vital resigned as UE coach last December, citing 'differences in vision' as his reason for leaving. Dongallo, Madriaga, and Gajero will serve a one-year residency before becoming eligible to play for UP. They will also face a one-year deduction from their playing years due to new league rules for transfers within UAAP schools
