THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas and the Anti-Cybercrime Group have formally filed a case before the prosecutor’s office against the operator of a scam hub located in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City.Charges for violating Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act were filed on July 4, 2025 against an individual known by the alias “Tonying,” a resident of Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, identified as the alleged operator of the scam hub .
Investigators are continuing to verify their identities using digital evidence and personnel records already in the custody of PRO 7 to support the filing of additional cases.If proven guilty, these individuals may face up to 21 years of imprisonment and fines of up to P5 million, depending on the charges and court ruling.
