Severe flooding that resulted in some homes being swept away was experienced in parts of Luzon due to the effects of Habagat and Tropical Cyclone Carina .According to reports on GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita on Tuesday, several families had to be evacuated while some motorists were stranded.Metro ManilaIn Island Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila, around 25 families stayed in an evacuation center after their homes collapsed due to big waves, Bea Pinlac reported.
In Batangas City, flooding was attributed to the clogged drainage and outfall, according to a report of GMA Regional TV’s Denise Abante.“Ang nakikita natin dyang solusyon ay palakihin ng national government, ng yung drainage na nangangalaga hilltop. Hindi kasi kakayanin nung ating drainage para doon sa outfall natin,” City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Rod Dela Roca said.Traffic flow became heavier after floods hit DJPMM Access Road and parts of Poblacion.
