The Eagles dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Mooseheads at Scotiabank Centre, marking the opening game of the QMJHL season for Cape Breton, which was forced to postpone two home games hosting the Moncton Wildcats and Halifax and one road game against Moncton due to post-tropical storm Fiona. Nicolas Ruccia made 33 saves for Cape Breton, while Mooseheads goalie Mathis Rousseau stopped 28 of 32 shots.After a couple of postponements, the Eagles were slated to hold their season-opening home game at Centre 200 this Wednesday against the Victoriaville Tigres.
