Taylor is tied for second and Hadwin is tied for fourth heading into the final round.
Despite some of the biggest names in golf rising to the top of the leaderboard at the WM Phoenix Open, a pair of Canadians will be part of the final-round conversation.
Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 2 and the tournament’s defending champion, leads by two shots through 54 holes. He finished his second round earlier Saturday shooting a second straight 66 to get into the third round’s final grouping.Taylor\ shot a tidy 4-under 67 Saturday, highlighted by birdies on three of his final six holes, including back-to-back circles on Nos. 17 and 18.
Taylor has had a steady 2022-23 PGA Tour campaign so far, with five top-25 finishes in nine events. He pointed to a change in his putting grip as the key to his early-season success. He also switched caddies in the fall and said his new looper was reading the greens well this week. That has helped buoy his confidence.
