The Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights on Tuesday endorsed the bills granting Canadian vlogger Kyle Douglas Jennerman Filipino citizenship to the plenary for deliberations.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri moved to approve the bills on his naturalization which was duly seconded by Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva.
Villanueva, Zubiri, and Senator Sonny Angara have filed bills seeking to grant Jennerman Filipino citizenship. During the hearing, Jennerman, who has been living in the country for 10 years already, said the country has become part of who he is because it has taught him so much.
If he fails to secure his naturalization, Jennerman said one of his options is to apply for a visa that classifies him as a permanent resident of the Philippines.—NB, GMA Integrated News
