The Dinos will look to extend their win streak against the Bisons after picking up the weekend double back in November when they faced off against the Manitoba team in Winnipeg. The Dinos were dominant over the Manitoba, winning 8-2 and 4-2 in their weekend clashes. The puck-drops are 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday. Ahead of Saturday’s game, the Dinos will honour graduating student-athletes Brendan De Jong, Bradley Schoonbaert, and Jordan Xavier. Both games will be streamed live on Canada West TV.After a weekend off from competition, the Dinos women’s volleyball team returns to the court this weekend, playing host to the UBC Thunderbirds for a weekend set.

With just three weeks left in the regular season, the attention on the conference standings is growing in the ultra-competitive Canada West. UBC enters the weekend sitting in second place with a 14-4 record to date, while the Dinos sit firmly in seventh place at 11-7. Calgary is three games up on the two teams currently in eighth and just one game behind the Manitoba Bisons, who will come to The Jack for the final weekend of the regular season.

Both of this weekend’s matches can be streamed live on Canada West TV. The action gets underway Friday with a scheduled 7:45 start at Jack Simpson Gym. Dinos fourth-year middle Lincoln Baines has been efficient for his team when called upon offensively this season. Baines ranks fourth in Canada West, boasting an impressive .358 hitting percentage this season. On the other side of the net, UBC fourth-year hitter Matt Neaves has stepped up in a big way for the Thunderbirds. Neaves ranks fifth in Canada West in hitting percentage , just a tick below Baines. Impressively, Neaves also leads Canada West in kills per set with 4.41.
