In certain communities in the Philippines, unsafe water, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene exacerbate the problem, also making children susceptible to various illnesses. The campaign is currently focusing efforts on providing access to clean and nutritious food to communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao via the Life Changer for Children initiative of Save the Children.

Dr. Joselyn Alonzo-Eusebio, a developmental and behavioral pediatrics specialist, emphasized that stunting and illnesses like diarrhea also affect children’s development.
