Multiple sub-lessees of CJH Development Corporation have dropped their legal challenge against the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) regarding the full recovery of the Camp John Hay property after the Baguio Regional Trial Court rejected their petition for a temporary restraining order (TRO).

Multiple sub-lessees of CJH Development Corporation (CJHDevCo) have dropped their legal challenge against the Bases Conversion and Development Authority ( BCDA ) regarding the full recovery of the Camp John Hay property. The Baguio Regional Trial Court (RTC) rejected the petition filed by John Hay foreign locators on February 5th, which sought a temporary restraining order (TRO) to prevent the 247-hectare Camp John Hay from being returned to BCDA ownership.

The decision marks a significant development in the long-standing dispute over the property's ownership. The BCDA, the government agency responsible for the redevelopment of former military bases, has been pursuing the full recovery of Camp John Hay since the Supreme Court issued a final ruling in its favor. The sub-lessees, who had initially leased portions of the property from CJHDevCo, argued that they were entitled to continued occupancy and ownership based on agreements they had entered into. However, the court's denial of their TRO request indicates that their legal arguments were not successful. In response to the court's decision, BCDA Chairman Hilario Paredes issued a statement expressing understanding for the situation of those affected, acknowledging that they had been misled with promises of homeownership and lucrative investments. However, he emphasized that the government was simply acting in accordance with the Supreme Court's final ruling and urged all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue with the BCDA to clarify uncertainties and explore legal remedies. He also cautioned against being swayed by misleading statements from other parties involved in the dispute
