THE mayors of the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (Camanava) warned traders against increasing prices of basic commodities, reminding them of the 60-day price freeze following the declaration of a state of calamity.
THE mayors of the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela warned traders against increasing prices of basic commodities, reminding them of the 60-day price freeze following the declaration of a state of calamity.In separate interviews, Mayors Dave Gonzalo 'Along' Malapitan , Jeannie Sandoval , John Rey Tiangco and Weslie Gatchalian told The Manila Times that they have activated their respective task forces to monitor prices in the markets and other establishments.
The mayors urged consumers to report to authorities retailers whose prices are beyond the price ceiling.'While we have our task forces that make rounds in the markets and other similar establishments, we also need the cooperation of the public to make sure that the traders or retailers are not violating the Price Control Act,' the mayors said.
