The city government of Caloocan has started preparations for the conduct of a plebiscite for the division of Barangay 176, also known as Bagong Silang, into six separate barangays, Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan said yesterday.

The law directed the Comelec to conduct and supervise the plebiscite within 90 days from its effectivity. Malapitan lauded Marcos for signing the measure into law, which was introduced by his father, Caloocan District 1 Rep. Oscar Malapitan, to bring more services to the residents of Bagong Silang, which he described as arguably “the largest barangay in the country.”
